I'm Joseph L. McKnight Of Spartanburg, SC; and Of Roanoke, Alabama.
Browse through my Ancestor List

Are we related? Is your great-grandfather our mother's cousin's grandma's nephew once removed? There's only one way to find out . . . . In this list, names and dates are indexed by surname.

Webster Hunter McKnight Sr.; Maude Smith-Mcknight, of Roanoke, Alabama. My great grandfather on my grandmother Maude's side would be George Smith, I don't know his middle name. And my great grandmother on my grandmother Maude's side would be Minnie Kate Wright-Smith.

William Brunson McKissick, and Gertrude E. Foster-McKissick of Spartanburg, South Carolina. My mother is Josephine McKissick, one of the daughters of William and Gertrude. William and Gertrude's Had a number of children: Willie, Gertrude Elizabeth, Edith, Charlie, Josephine, Pinkney, and Warren, seven children in all. I will deal with these children a little later. One of the things that I would like to get more information on are the family members of the foster one of the branches that my grandmother Gertrude Fosteer came from. The members of the Foster Family came from is one of the immediate streams that has comtributed to who I am.

Let us be watchfull and vigilant as family, for with each passing year through old age and other misfortunes there are members that are dropping out from each end of the family line, and out the family tree. Although them were and will always be a part of the family, once they are gone we no longer have the imput from them. And whether that imput is positive or negative, there are reasons why they did what they did, and even now, those that do what they are doing. It is my contention that we can learn from them if somehow we can hear and remember, and pass on what they are saying and and those that are now gone, have said.

There is that human nature that will tend to sometimes make some of us think that we we just a little better that others; what we sometimes fail to remember is that we struggle what we are, or at least strive where we are to make the next generation better that we are.

Thumb through the Family Album

Take a peek to see some of the things that you could possibly have received if you had ascended from our family's gene pool. Family members, look to see what it is that you inherited mom or day or one of the grands, or Great-grands. Or just review some  of  the family pictures.

It is not easy for me at this present time to get pictures and get them on the web site, but I am working on that. There have been research and calculation on the probility of certain character traits being pased on to which child or to which generation. I am not sure whether it is the dominance of a particular gene that contributes to a particular character trait or the numbers of a particular gene combining together to produce a certain character trait, however we have a great verity of physical Characteristics in our family tree. And as I have observed in other families, whatever the race or national origin there are wide verities of characteristics in families. The closer you are to the mother and the father the more the offsprings look like the mother or the father. It is at this level  simular characteristics a simular.

I was watching a TV program a few weeks ago and that was showing a black African- American couple that had just had a baby; The baby had white skin straight hair, but it had negroid features. The couple had one other child that I saw and that child had dark skin with the negroid features.I believe that the gene pool is like water, water that fills the oceans, the seas, the rivers, the lakes, the streams and the ponds. This water is separated by land and the land that surround that water will affect the quality and kind of water that is near it, whether it is salt water, clear water, or muddy water; the water can also be affected by whether it is in motion, that is, running or stagnate, not moving. It does not matter what the condition of the water is or what has affected the water as a consequence of it's environment, it is still water. It may be drinkable or contaminated to the point that it can not be consumed, nevertheless, it is water.

There is a specific purpose for all the various types and kind and conditions of the waters in their locations. The things that feed the containers and locations of the water is in it's essence, not salty, muddy or contaminated, and except for the water that is contaminated by humans careless violation of wise environmental usage the various kinds and conditions of the water is good and positive. When we can learn to come in contact with nature, be it water land, plants , animals or even other humans, we will violate them and the purpose of their being. To be in harmony with these things is to be or come into harmony with the source from which they came. You call it what you desire, I call it God.
